Baffle blades
Vertical blades with spacing set to the acoustic brief.
Products / Ceiling / Baffle ceiling
Vertical aluminium blades with the spacing and infill your acoustic brief needs — quoted against your drawing.
Also called a blade ceiling or aluminium baffle ceiling
A baffle ceiling is a row of vertical aluminium blades suspended with a gap between them. Because the ceiling is open in one direction, the space above stays visible and services keep moving: this is the system chosen for atria, airport concourses, metro stations, hotel lobbies and other high volumes where airflow, lighting integration and sound absorption all have to be solved at once.
Blade shape and spacing do the acoustic work. With acoustic infill, blade systems typically reach NRC 0.60-0.95, and spacing is normally 150-300 mm — wider, 200-400 mm, when a more open ceiling is wanted. Both are confirmed against your drawing before quotation.

The numbers a quotation is built from
| What you specify | Common range | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Panel / blade width | 100 / 150 / 200 / 300 mm | Narrow blades read as a fine line; 300 mm reads as a plank |
| Aluminium thickness | 0.6 – 3.0 mm | Priced on a sliding scale per 0.1 mm step |
| Edge height | 20 / 24 / 28 / 30 mm | Give it with the size — it sets the carrier and the clip |
| Standard length | to order | Set by the runs on your drawing, not by a stock sheet |
| Finish | Powder coat / PVDF / anodized / wood-grain / stone-grain | Finish tier adds a per m² premium |
| Accessories | Carrier, clips, trim | Quoted separately unless your enquiry includes them |
Every value above comes from the same production specification we quote against. Send your drawing and the sizes are confirmed against it before quotation.
| Blade shape | Airflow | Lighting integration | Acoustic (NRC) | Typical spacing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| U-shape | High | Linear LED in blade | 0.70-0.90 with infill | 150-300 mm |
| Round tube | Highest | Linear LED inside tube | 0.60-0.80 with infill | 200-400 mm |
| A-shape | High | Linear LED in groove | 0.75-0.95 with infill | 150-300 mm |
| Teardrop | Medium | Linear LED in profile | 0.65-0.85 with infill | 200-350 mm |
| Bullet | Medium | Linear LED in profile | 0.60-0.80 with infill | 200-400 mm |
Acoustic figures are with infill fitted, and are confirmed for your project rather than assumed. See also the comparison against linear and open-cell ceilings.
Baffle spacing is normally 150-300 mm, and 200-400 mm where a more open look or a higher airflow is wanted. Spacing is confirmed against your drawing.
With acoustic infill, blade systems typically reach NRC 0.60-0.95 depending on blade shape, spacing and the infill used.
Yes — linear LED is commonly carried inside the blade or in the groove between blades. Tell us the lighting detail and it is coordinated with the blade spacing.
They are closely related. A linear ceiling is a run of planks; a baffle ceiling is a series of vertical blades, usually with gaps between them, so services and air move through the ceiling.
